Leaders & Staff

We recognize that biblical leadership is critical to the health of the church, and that the two leadership offices most clearly recognized within the Bible are Elders and Deacons. The Elders are both Pastors and Overseers who give an account to God for the spiritual state of the church (Hebrews 13:17), and who commission deacons and deaconesses as lead servants.

Elders

Our church is led by a plurality of male elders who are biblically qualified according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Whilst Jesus Christ reigns as head over His church, elders are responsible for shepherding the flock, guarding the doctrine of the church, and the governing of the church (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 4:11; Titus 1:5).

Deacons & Deaconesses

The Deacons and Deaconesses are godly servants of good repute (Acts 6:1-7). They have a clear grasp of the gospel (1 Timothy 3:8-13), and have the important duty of managing practical matters so that the Elders are free to spend more time in prayer and the Word. They help unite the church by bringing together the fraying ends of our community, and by enhancing our evangelistic mission (Acts 6:1-7).
